Wrote a essay about it, and worked with somebody who was serving at the time

Yom kippur war, golda meir was too afraid to boslster up reserves, didnt listen to her generals that were SCREAMING at her egypt and syria gonna attack, writing on the wall, do something ,

She did nothing

In 2 days israel was pushed back almost to tel aviv, most reservists were fasting, and didnt mobilise in time, no equipment ready for them, initially was a bloodbath for israel,
The arabs shot down so many jets it became a sport, destroyed so many tanks it was like shooting fish in a barrel

Then came the turnaround, golda went to the us, and just like the beggining of "sum of all fears"
Said check your spy sats, if you dont help us, well turn the middle east into a radioactive dust bowl

The us blinked, and the biggest military airlift of all time resupplied israel with everything they needed, with even the us marines labels and markings still on them,

Israel pushed back, got halfway to cairo,

But since then people in israel never forget how the left wing nearly wiped us out,

One old guy here in my office told me the story and ive been ao inspired by how israel almost got wiped off the face of the earth becuse of one womans mistake.

Yom kippur war, was frighning how suddenly it started, told me how he was sitting at home and on a day when your only supposed to rest
No driving,no cooking, no tv or radio

Suddenly you start seeing cars and hearing air raid sirens, on a holiday, where its super quiet usually,

Said he walked outside, and asked what happening, told him a war broke out, get in the car, and while still wearimg slippers, got dropped off at his base where his tank was parked only to find no boots,
He had to drive a tank while wearing bath slippers, before the big resupply got him a american uniform with boots

Just imagining it in my head makes it so funny......trying to drive a 60ton tank in slippers.....

I dont know what the solution is but Hamas and the rest of them are already gearing up for the next war.
Maybe this time Bibi wont stop like he did before and go in and get rid of Hamas for good? Then perhaps peace can start.

They do say that clearly and loud the every other day and even make laws to counter their progress and hamper their future, so far to little avail. So please tell me another one.

The fact that 0.2% of the world population are so powerfull and strong headed are no small feat. What do you think will happen if the Arabs take over in israel? Remember the holocaust or do you think they cared about the jews then?

His coalition partners are all gonna be settlement crazies. And they will continue to push Palestinians off their land. And will essentially prove to the world that Israel just talks peace but doesn't practice it.

Thats a lie. The natives you claim as living here "first" came from the north and killed the locals tribes raping their woman, killing the men and stealing their food and livestock. This all ended only after settlers brought control to this savagery.
