From the front winglets to the factory-installed supercharger, this is a motorcycle so extreme its hard to comprehend. We don't know the whole story yet, but what we do know is staggering: this is what a 300 hp motorcycle looks like.

The Kawasaki Ninja H2™R motorcycle is an engineering marvel, made possible only through the sourcing of technological expertise from multiple divisions of Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd. The Gas Turbine division was crucial in the development of a hyper-efficient supercharger*—the only one of its kind; custom components were created to near-impossible tolerances by the Machinery division; and the Aerospace division crafted the distinctive carbon-fiber bodywork of this aerodynamic masterpiece. I was sold on it right up until...
 
Test riders are talking about 210mp/h and more on the bike... That's around 340km/h!?!? Natural selection might have a new weapon of choice.

H2R will be track only anyway
The "plain" H2 will be the same bike, but detuned to some extent to make it mass production capable (plus adding of indicators etc to make it road legal). Check back in November sometime for the details

I can hit 300km/h on my bike without even trying too hard. It's no so much the top speed but the time it takes it to get to that speed that is the factor here. Just about any Bike can hit 300 eventually. However a Turbo'd Bussa or a Super charged Kawa can get to 300 just a little bit faster :p
 
Damn, this bike will be illegal in most countries, including SA I think... The Japanese however is pushing to produce this bike.

As you say, it's how quickly it gets there... Been reading some of the propaganda on this beastie. Cycle World are talking of a theoretical top speed in excess of 410km/h and that's Veyron territory. Incidentally, the Veyron would need more than double its horsepower to match the HP per Kg of the Kawasaki!! Those wings are from Kawasaki's aerospace division to keep the bike stable at speed (and one would assume, not in a near earth orbit).

In the real world 'tho, I really like the trellis frame and the one sided swing arm... Hope those make it to the road going H2.

Will happily pay for a ticket to Japan if they let me test ride this.

Just been looking at motorcycle land speed records. Someone did 605 km/h with a bike running a pair of turbocharged Hayabusa engines putting out over 1000 hp. That was probably scary.
