I have Polo sedan 2015 model. It shows water warning light the moment you switch the engine on. What could be the problem ? Pls help

Not too familiar with this motor. But I would think it's either a leak and you loosing water and allowing air into the system causing it to boil or the pump isn't working or thermostat is stuck closed.

Some newer vw motors have pump and thermostat in the same housing and not serviceable.

If you open the cap and smell exhaust gases good chance it's a head gasket gone.

If OP is not even technically enough to diagnose the problem, only a mechanic can help him before that engine is totally toast. MyBB office mechanics will only be guessing in circles and will cost RRRRR's in possible solutions.

Get it properly checked by a proper workshop. either you already have catastrophic engine failure (cylinder head which can cause more issues). find out sooner or later. the longer you "live with it" the more damage you can cause

Thanks guys about the input, I managed to fix the car by changing thermostat and it seemed problem solved. I just drive 50km and there was no warning sign or maximum temperature.
Glad to hear. and good that it didnt cause any more harm
