2016 Academy Award Winners

The Weeknd was nominated for best song. He's not African American but he is black and Canadian.
 
Haven't seen The Revenant but I didn't like Birdman at all so I'm glad Innaritu didn't win best movie again. I loved Spotlight and very glad it won. Ex Machina's VFX win was also much deserved.

Speaking of, how is it that that is Morricone's first Oscar? Sure he had a honorary one but never won it prior to this. He's like the DiCaprio on the music side.

huh...he wasn't even nominated for the stuff he did for Sergio Leone. That's like the only reason I know who he is :o

I do think he's overrated yeah. Although he was better when he was younger, I agree. What's Eating Gilbert Grape was a great performance.

I think his problem is that too many people see DiCaprio, but I don't think that's on him. I think he's an amazing actor. The Aviator is still one of my favourite performances. I haven't seen The Danish Girl, but out of the rest, he definitely deserved the win in my opinion.

Though I'd have had Idrid Elba nominated and win over everything else from last year. Out of the entire Revenant cast, only Hardy deserved a nomination/win imo.
