Since it's a popular car I thought I'll take a shot here maybe someone has encountered the same problem.
A friend's Ford Figo has an intermittent problem that has him at his wits end, the car will run fine for a couple of weeks then all of a sudden it will throw a spanner and engine light, hunt for revs and there's a total lack of power. It has been in out of a Ford dealer, Ford cannot say what the problem is, they apparently did some software upgrade and the car behaved for a couple of weeks and true to form it has gone back to its ways.
The latest episode was on Friday, Ford techs came to collect the car, as it's always the case they found it in its best behavior and they were able to drive the car to the dealer, even though the engine light was illuminated but it was driveable. They were asked to collect the car on Saturday and the car was driving fine, just as they were approaching home the issue started.
I went over and plugged my scanner, car has the P061B code that I cannot clear, but odd enough the engine light disappeared after I disconnected the scanner and the car was back to normal, we tried all the suggested fixes for the code that points to the intake and air filters, nothing seems to help, any ideas?
