2017 Ford Fiesta ST200

If I am right in saying, all Euro-Spec Fords including ours has Sync 1 and Sync 2 and only the US-Spec one's get Sync 3?

Not *all* MY 2016 Fords. Can't speak for Euro markets but many here still has Sync 1 like entire Fiesta range. entire Focus range except top spec ST3; current entire Kuga range; "cheaper" Fusion models etc.

The balance have Sync 2.

Many of the new US-specs cars have Sync 3.

Sorry for the mistake there, but i'm just thinking it's a bit unfair towards us for not bringing that here. But Ford probably has good reason not to. So even the Mustang(The SA one) has Sync 2?

I would hardly call it "unfair". The Euro & SA-spec 'Stang has the Sync 2 system yes & US-land the Sync 3 one. No doubt they will rollout the newer system to the newer model years.

I believe the gap between the Sync 3 system is not that huge relative to the Sync 2 vs Sync 1 system.

Really "unfair" is the ZAR-price of the 'Stang here

Anyway even "Sync" talk the thread is about the 200bhp/290nm FiST...

Not long ago that was GTI 5 power & torque & that's a whole class bigger.

The Clio is doing 200(PS)for a while now...

I'm still not sold on the dashboard of the current Fiesta, a kids butterfly picture always pops into my head when I see the centre console.:wtf:
Still a good buy, hopefully the price will not see a significant increase to market it against its main rivals.

I'm well aware of that. The limited run Trophy does 220bhp & the Corsa OPC does 207bhp.

Many in the know regard the FiST as the best light hatch. It was the best yet had the least power. Now it's good an even 200bhp.

How would you rate the hot hatches vs the more boring and slightly bigger VW Polos / Golfs or even Audi hatches?

I am currently driving around the work's Isuzu DMAX clubcab. Kief bakkie but such a hassle to drive around town and find parking. :o Plus I'd like to get myself a private car that has 4 seats seeing as the gf lives 3hrs away and I don't wanna use work cars too much (hence my previous question about small cars with 4WD).

Why not just one big oval tailpipe, or one in the shape and position similar to that of the Focus ST? Makes the car look like souped Polo 9N.

I'd rather have a base Jaaaag F-Typ V6 at that price it's a much better looking car and a better car in general IMO

Exactly what I was thinking when reading this thread the G5 GTI had 147kW and was a much heavier car. And like you said in a different class. It's just staggering how much power you can extract from a turbo 1.6 these days

I reckon about R350K.

You reckon they're going to bring out a tuned, limited numbers version of probably their most popular car, for not just less but significantly less than the price of a Focus ST, after the sh*t they pulled with the Mustang's pricing?

I commend your optimism, but can't share it.
