One-Off BMW M5 CS By Manhart Gets 777 HP (580 KW)

Manhart has already proven they can build potent M5’s with the announcement of the MH5 800 package but now they have developed something even more special. A one-off based on the BMW M5 CS dubbed the MH5 GTR

Cosmetically you will notice a new “Moonlight” wrap in silky dark blue, with a set of grey Manhart decals. The BMW M5 CS leaves the factory with some gold accents which the tuner usually loves but for this build, they were deleted by replacing them with either silver (grille) or black (side gills and badging).

Wrapping up the changes outside is a set of black 21-inch alloy wheels with additional spacers in the front axle.

They did not tinker with the interior too much as the M5 CS already has a very intriguing cabin so they settled with a Manhart badge on the Alcantara-wrapped steering wheel.

Watch Tesla Model S Plaid Demolish BMW M5 CS On Track And Drag Race

Yes, we know the Tesla Model S Plaid is an outrageously quick car but to see what it does to a BMW M5 CS as well as a Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing is jaw-dropping.

The video below, which is one of the best edited videos we have seen, shows how big the gap is after the EV finished the quarter-mile in 9.33 seconds at a speed of 245 km/h (152 mph)at the line.

MotoGP Champion Fabio Quartararo Wins BMW M5 CS

Fabio Quartararo grabbed the 2021 MotoGP title recently and to make things even sweeter, he also won the monstrous BMW M5 CS by picking up the BMW M Award for the fastest qualifier of the MotoGP season.

He managed to secure five pole positions over the season and was, therefore, handed the keys after the final qualifying session on Saturday.

“It has been a fantastic season for me, winning my first MotoGP World Championship, and my second BMW M Award is the icing on the cake at the end of this special year,” Quartararo said. “I am delighted to have won the BMW M Award again in 2021, having claimed my ‘maiden victory’ last year. I really enjoy driving the BMW M2 CS from the 2020 BMW M Award, and I have to say that the new BMW M5 CS obviously caught my eye as soon as it was presented as this year’s prize car.”

G-Power Pushes BMW M5 CS To Nearly 900 HP

When it comes to radically fast BMW’s, G-Power is generally the tuner responsible for the work done and now they have turned their attention to the fastest production BMW ever, the M5 CS.

The M5 CS leaves the factory with 627 hp (468 kW) and 750 Nm (553 lb-ft) of torque from the twin-turbo 4.4-litre V8. Power is sent to all four wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission and the rear-biased M xDrive all-wheel-drive system.

The tuner can offer an entry-level GP-700 package that takes power up to 690 hp (515 kW) and 850 Nm (627 lb-ft) thanks to a software upgrade.

There are a few offerings in between but the beastly GP-900 package cranks things up to a whopping 887 hp (662 kW) and 1,050 Nm (774 lb-ft). This immense power was achieved with upgraded turbochargers, sports downpipes, and the Deeptone exhaust system.

Verdict

While we’re probably looking at the beginning of the end of the “super sports sedan” era, there’s no denying that right now we’re spoilt for choice. The German trio of the BMW M5, Mercedes-AMG E63 S and Audi RS6/RS7 all offer twin-turbocharged V8 engines, are ludicrously quick yet have tech, space and comfort in abundance. All three are at the top of their game and all three are exceptional products.

With the F90-generation BMW M5 Competition, the Munich-based brand has addressed the issues of the earlier model, like its harsh ride and lack of character as far as the engine sound was concerned.

Should you buy one? If you have R2 million and are still chasing that exotic supercar dream, but are put off by the sacrifices like impractical packaging and awkward ingress/egress, then you should consider the BMW M5 Competition. Unlike most thoroughbred performance offerings, this is not a compromised one-trick pony.

The Bavarian offering will not only thrill with its devastating performance ability and enthral with its sheer sense of theatre, but it can effortlessly transport your family for a holiday across the country. Being able to perfectly balance supercar levels of performance with real-world daily-driven usability is why this car deserves a second look.
