2018 Rolls-Royce Phantom (Generation VIII)

Rolls-Royce Phantom Extended Magnetism

Representing a modern interpretation of Rolls-Royce's pinnacle model, the Phantom Extended 'Magnetism' commission reflects the magnetic ambiance of a beach bay under the night sky. The two-tone exterior coachwork is finished in Cala Luna Sand, inspired by the hue of the moonlit beach sands, and Kabira Blue, reminiscent of the profound intensity of the horizon when the vast sea meets the midnight sky. The exterior is completed with a double coachline hand-painted in Arctic White and Cala Luna Sand.

Inside, the celestial concept is brought into technicolour with a complex Starlight Headliner: 768 Galileo Blue and 576 White hand-placed 'stars' make up the motif, which becomes animated by a further eight 'shooting stars'.

Want a Rolls-Royce that’s even flashier than usual? Here are three

One-off Ghost, Phantom and Spectre models are inspired by picturesque locations and take exterior and interior design up to 11

What’s better than one special edition Rolls-Royce? Three that resemble various scenic locations, obviously! And that’s exactly what we’ve been treated to by the Spirit of Ecstasy marque, which has displayed a unique colourway of its Phantom, Spectre and Ghost models at the China Autoshow. Let’s start with the one inspired by Mayfield Lavender Farm.

Dubbed the Ghost ‘Expressionism’ and finished in a shade of purple that’s… blue, or Boracay Blue to be specific, the Ghost is meant to imitate a sunset over Boracay Island in the Philippines. The main theme is then complemented by a lime green coachline which represents the island’s tropical flora and fauna.

Inside, the lime green accents continue across the black/white leather upholstery, and can also be spotted along the doors. In fact, the doors themselves are created using over 140,000 stitches, which… is a lot of stitches. The Starlight roof also mimics the door stitching patterns to create a truly gorgeous cabin. Though it’s not quite the same as being on Boracay Island itself, particularly if you exit the car and realise you’re at Cobham Services.

You won’t guess how many ‘Centenary’ Phantoms Rolls-Royce is building

Happy 100th birthday, Phantom. Rolls-Royce celebrates with most intricate wood and stitching ever…

The Rolls-Royce Phantom is 100 years old. Not the current one, obviously: the Phantom VIII went on sale in 2017. They didn’t have touchscreens and twin-turbo V12s in 1925.

But the Phantom has endured through eight generations and 10 decades and remains the flagship Rolls-Royce, and for pretty much the entirety of the nameplate’s life, it’s been the finest luxury car in the world. Fitting then that Rolls-Royce should celebrate it in the only way it knows how: flexing its bespoke luxury muscles.

Welcome to the Phantom Centenary Private Collection. Sounds like a secret club. Sort of is, really. And you might expect there to be 100 members. But no. Rolls-Royce will only build 25 cars to this specification.

The canvas here is a Phantom Extended: the 2.5-tonne, 563bhp topper of the Rolls range. But onto that, every department of Rolls-Royce has been allowed to really push the boat out.

Rolls-Royce Unveils Ultra-Limited Phantom Centenary Collection

The Rolls-Royce Phantom Centenary Private Collection marks 100 years of the iconic Phantom nameplate. Only 25 examples will be produced.

Rolls-Royce has unveiled the Phantom Centenary Private Collection, a limited-edition model celebrating 100 years of the Phantom nameplate. Based on the Phantom VIII, the bespoke creation pays tribute to the people, places, and milestones that have shaped this model’s century-long legacy. Production is limited to just 25 examples.

The exterior features a two-tone, Super Champagne Crystal and Black finish. The paintwork’s shimmering effect was achieved by infusing iridescent crushed-glass particles into the clear coat, with standard metallic flakes replaced by champagne-coloured items, and the quantity doubled for greater depth and brilliance.

The Spirit of Ecstasy is crafted from solid 18-carat gold, using the original 1925 casting from the first Phantom. It is then plated in 24-carat gold, before being tested and certified by the London Assay Office, where a unique Phantom Centenary hallmark is applied. The base is finished in hand-poured white vitreous enamel. Matching 24-carat gold and white enamel ‘RR’ badges adorn the front, rear, and sides of the vehicle. Completing the exterior are Phantom disc wheels, engraved with 25 fine lines on each to collectively symbolise the Phantom’s 100-year milestone. Under the bonnet, the twin-turbocharged 6.75-litre V12 engine cover has received gold accents.
