I've watched & read many viewpoints about Volvo's Sensus Connect system since it's debuted in the 2nd gen XC90.
It's very much split opinion. You will find testers who really enjoy the layout, UI & functionality & those not so much.

Verdict
The XC60 D4 may be the entry-level derivative in the range, but, to its credit, the car doesn’t feel like the neglected stepchild of Volvo's executive SUV family. In fact, it’s the over-achiever. It’s no slouch; in fact, it provides ample performance to shuttle a family and their equipment around.
The air suspension option is the way to go if you prioritise comfort above all else, just don’t specify the 21-inch wheels if you want to keep it that way, we believe the 19s or 20s items will do just fine. The cabin, which is well insulated from cabin and wind noise, is pleasingly refined and, in terms of practicality, the XC60 hits the required marks in terms of load space, rear passenger comfort and clever storage locations.
But that ultimately promotes the Volvo ahead of its (predominantly German and British) competitors? There is little doubt that the Volvo sports slick and sophisticated design with broad, almost universal, appeal... but its cabin really trumps those of the opposition. The materials used comprise less plastic and more quality leather and the plush carpeting exudes luxury and style. It feels like a much more expensive space to spend your time.

Volvo's SUV growth drives record sales
Continued success of XC60 and XC40 SUVs lead firm to record sales, despite struggles of global car market
Volvo has reported record sales in the first half of 2019, with the success of its SUV range helping the firm sell 340,286 cars – including strong growth in the UK market.
The Swedish company’s worldwide sales between January and June were up 7.3% on 2018, despite the struggles of the global car market. The growth has been driven by Volvo’s SUV range, which accounted for 60.7% of its total sales.
Volvo sold 30,026 cars in the UK in the first six months of 2019, a year-on-year increase of 30%. The firm also reported growth of 32% in Germany and 10.2% in China, despite the European and Chinese car markets continuing to decline.
Boss Håkan Samuelsson said the results showed Volvo was now “a real premium alternative” as a brand.
The XC60 SUV was Volvo’s best-selling model in the first half of 2019, with 50,946 sales. That was 0.1% down year on year, largely due to a fall in sales in Sweden. Volvo also sold 32,961 examples of the new XC40 small SUV, up 88.3% on 2018.

WATCH: Ferrari crashes, Volvo hits barriers at Kyalami - 2 incidents at SA Festival of Motoring, no serious injuries
The second crash was a minor incident involving a Volvo colliding with track barriers.
Dennis said: "The Volvo bumped into barriers at the handling track. It was a low speed impact. No injuries were reported."
"Incidents like these are unfortunate but they do occur. The circuit however is well equipped to deal with these types of incidents and responded quickly."

Two incidents occurred at the 2019 SA Festival of Motoring - one serious crash involving a Ferrari 488 and the other a low-impact shunt suffered by a Volvo at the Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit.

Tested: Volvo XC60 D5 Inscription is understated luxury
The most remarkable quality of the XC60 is most arguably the ability to make parking less of a frustration. It’s not exactly a small car, and when I first started driving it, the thought of parking led to unnecessary anxiety. With the help of park assist and 360˚ cameras, anyone can park this baby - even people who struggle to parallel park, like me.
After a week of test-driving the car, I felt like I had been robbed. Going back to driving my Suzuki took lots of getting used to. Suddenly, my car felt too low, too old, too slow and too dirty.
The hubby and myself started conversations with “imagine if we could afford it” or “let’s make a plan”. This particular model retails for R809 400, and comes with a 5-year warranty and maintenance plan. Yep, it’s nice to dream. But at least I got a taste of the dream. Now to start saving. That Volvo’s got my name written on it.

Ah, yes. There’s no other way of saying this, as tested ours was £68,625. Ouch. Given something like an SQ5 starts at just over £50,000, that’s a lot. The Volvo is far more interesting than the diesel-powered Audi though, and although you’d need to keep the battery topped-up to enjoy the best of it, we’d commend anyone who chose the Polestar Engineered as a family hauler.

Confusing, you say?Exactly. After a cursory glance at the spec sheet, you could quite easily pigeonhole this Polestar Engineered XC60 as yet another performance SUV along the lines of the V8-engined Mercedes-AMG GLC 63 or the straight-sixed BMW X3 M. The Volvo has slightly less power than that...

Should I buy one?
While we applaud Volvo for offering such a mild hybrid system, and commend it on what it does to improve driveability, ultimately that mediocre economy really limits the petrol B5's appeal.
You’d have to really not like diesel, really want an XC60 and be interested in electrified cars but not enough to choose a plug-in hybrid to choose this particular version of the XC60. Which probably doesn’t leave that many buyers. Yet those who do choose one will still find it a very nice car to drive, if not one with superior running costs offered elsewhere in the same showroom.
