Hi all,

I would like to find out what’s procedure do network providers follow to determine how much to pay you to lease space in your property to erect their tower?

What’s the going rate in 2019?

I got a call from town planning on behalf of MTN, who do I negotiate a better rate with?

What I should I take into consideration?

Kind Regards,

Who as in another operator or rather who at MTN? You have to remember that a lot of planning goes into it. Each network has their own specific needs. They can usually relocate it a few meters but not a lot. So there's little competition from other property owners as well as other operators.

I'll take anything R4000/month and up and they also have to provide their own electricity connection. Best to call back the planning team and negotiate with them.

Well at some stage someone will be approaching you to sign a contract. That is who you deal with.

Why risk health ? I know there are some studies saying they have ill effects on your health and some saying otherwise but why risk it ?

Cause you can get R4000 a month....So its better than drinking coke, warming food in a microwave, and smoking

I haven't seen them paying more than R5000 ever.

We have Telkom on one property and MTN on another, both are under R5000.

However, they do an upfront payment for the whole year. So at best, you can get an upfront payment of R60 000 for 12 months.

R5k p/m for ~25m^2 ? seems like a deal, though they would have to supply their own electricity and have their own access.

Should probably consider the security risk as well with all the battery theft that goes on.

Hi. PM me your location and contact details. I am pretty sure I could give you a better deal and have someone out there to sign a contract within two weeks.

Yeah as I have it, a church around the corner from us has two towers installed on it's property and it pays close to R15k per month for the two combined.
