There are many reasons to buy a Ferrari if you have immoral levels of cash, most of them good. They are fun to drive. They are stylish. The incredibly supple leather coddles your bottom like your mamma did when you were a newborn. But those are not the reasons one actually buys a Ferrari.
You buy it for the emblem. And Ferrari knows this, to the extent that an emblem is all its new key fob is.
I don’t know why I keep insisting on thinking Ferrari is actually going to be a subtly classy Brand, but the 2020 Ferrari Roma is actually very sleek and understated in that “I have a lot of money but I kindly am not going to rub my hundred dollar bills in your face until all you see is green” kind of way.
But its key is tacky and stupid and looks like it’s a three-dollar keychain from a gift shop in Maranello because that was the only thing your cheap ass could afford. I refuse to believe this opens a supercar. I refuse.

2019 has been quite the year for Ferrari, their fans and of course their customers but don’t expect the same model assault next year as they will be focusing more on the new models revealed this year.
Not only have they brought us five new models, but a handful of one-offs, too. However, while Ferrari’s plant to launch 15 new models in five years is clearly well underway, 2020 will be a quieter year for the automaker.
The year kicked off with the F8 Tributo in March packing their most powerful V8 engine ever at the time with 720 horsepower (536 kW) and 770 Nm of torque. Then in May, we saw the mighty 986 hp (707 kW) SF90 Stradale introduced. After that, we saw the F8 Spider and 812 GTS models and the year was wrapped up this week with the reveal of the Roma.

After a bumper 2019, Ferrari will let things settle while customers get to grips with the line-up
Ferrari will slow down its massive range expansion plans next year, with commercial chief Enrico Galliera saying its focus will be on pushing sales of its new nameplates.
The Italian firm has committed to releasing 15 new models within a five-year window, and five of those have taken place this year. These included the SF90 Stradale and Roma, both new models aimed at brand-new market segments.
While that still leaves 10 new models to come, including a first SUV in 2022, Galliera said Ferrari would slow down the pace of its launches next year.
Asked about its future plans, he said: “We’ve committed to introducing 15 new models in a five-year plan, and we launched five in 2019, so certainly something will happen in the future. But 2020 for us is a year of consolidation.

Ferrari is the strongest brand in the world, says Brand Finance
Ferrari is the strongest brand in the world for the second year in a row, according to independent brand value consultancy Brand Finance.
Presenting its Brand Finance Global 500 report for 2020 at the World Economic Forum at Davos this week, the consultancy gave the Italian sports car specialist a Brand Strength Index score of 94.1 out of 100, with Ferrari topping the rankings as one of only 12 brands that were awarded the highest AAA+ rating.
To calculate the relative strength of a brand, Brand Finance uses various metrics that evaluate aspects such as business performance, stakeholder equity and marketing investment.
Ferrari was also commended for announcing five new models during 2019, including the Roma touring coupe and the hard-core SF90 Stradale, both of which are aimed at widening the marque’s customer base.

Should I buy one?
It would certainly be a mistake to dismiss the Roma on the basis that it's just a Portofino with a fixed roof or the latest version of 'that Ferrari that was supposed to be a Maserati'. Believe me, this car is a great deal more significant than that.
There's a clear sense of the modern entry-level V8 Ferrari finally hitting its potential with the Roma, both aesthetically and dynamically, and of reaching down into high-end Porsche 911, Audi, Aston Martin and Mercedes-AMG sports car territory with genuine purpose and threat for the first time.
Usable and rounded enough to enjoy on any day of the year, and on all sorts of trips and occasions, this is a proper Ferrari GT of a likably simple kind, the likes of which we haven’t seen in a long time. Here’s hoping that it proves that the people who count still know a really good Ferrari road car when they see one.
