Review: 2026 Audi Q5 TDI Sportback
Verdict
The new Q5 is an amalgamation of well-considered aesthetics, inside and out, spacious cabin and punchy powertrain options. As such, the Q5 continues to make a good case for itself in the premium midsize-SUV segment. The cabin is comfortable, neatly laid out and capacious. The Q5 is also pleasing to drive with its well-weighted steering setup and supple ride quality.
With its smooth power delivery, the 2.0 TDI-powered model is arguably the pick of the bunch. The turbodiesel powertrain is refined, punchy and frugal.
The new Q5 is not without its faults, though. While perceived quality is good, it’s not necessarily class-leading, and we do think that several of the options specified to our car should be standard equipment.
