Getting my 20MB line tomorrow and just wanted to ask if there are any decent ISP's for the higher speed lines. I do about 300GB a month on my Afrihost 4MB account but the shaping is horrible. I struggle to stream online videos and netflix without buffering and direct downloads from steam or my private EU hosted webserver are slow. I left Mweb for this very reason. I'm willing to pay more, just not business uncapped prices.

I'll probably use 600GB a month so wondering if there are any ISPs that will handle. Even if I have to stick to under 300GB, I can do that too.

I'd say rather get a capped account.

For the price of Home 20Meg uncapped you can get 600GBs capped data:

Thanks, had my 20MB VDSL installed and with my IS account I get awesome speed, Webafrica, not so much. I would think the 1GB would get the best performance, anything else and you not encouraging people to try you out.

Was that paid account WA home or business because theirs a minimal difference in price and last i check web africa home capped do have so shaping during the day

Also perhaps try a different server because doing them all on IS is pretty biased

It was a home account.

Suggest a server and I'll do the same...

The webafrica free accounts are limited to 10Mb/s. They don't offer free VDSL accounts.

So I've been with Web Africa for about 2 weeks. Netflix streaming has been good, only 1 or 2 hiccups and it said buffering...I've done majority of my NZB downloads and direct downloads between 12pm and 6am. Total Usage for the month so far is 369 GB and I'm on 4 stars. The the issue is I'm trying to download an NZB, granted during office hours, I'm getting 219 KB/s. That means I'm being shaped to almost a 2MB line. If I was on 1 star I would understand, but not on 4 stars.

I'm going to cancel and will be trying out Telkom 20MB Uncapped for around the same price from the 1st of August.
