22" LCD - Makro Special - Is is worth it?

Hey guys

I came by some Makro vouchers this weekend and was considering using them towards this monitor.

Is it worth it for gaming?

I was going to buy the 22" Samsung 2232GW but decided to investigate this instead. It would mean that I pay R1500 for this LCD in the end.

R1500 for a 22" LCD are not to be sneezed at.

The thing is I am also in th emarket for a new camcorder ... so I can use the vouchers towards that as well. But my current camcorder can suffice a few more months.

My concern is the d-sub inputs only and if this lcd is going to cut it for gaming.
 
Samsung will be much better.

What's the contrast ratio of that Fujitsu? Samsung is 3000:1 which is very good.
 
it will be fine for gaming

but in terms of that price 2.7k vs samsung which is around the same price

nothing beats the samsung in price and awesomeness :)

if you have vouchers though buy that monitor it will be ok, no hdcp i see as well

I like how you put it ..."in price and awesomeness".... I think if I go with the Siemens LCD I would be settling for less.

I will get the Samsung 2232GW... now to find one in Centurion / Midrand .... any suggestions on places where I can get this baby? Please pm me.
 
The Samsung is better.. check out the Fujitsu/Siemens monitor's stats here... 1000:1 contrast ration and 5ms response time.
The Samsung has a 2ms response time and 3000:1 contrast ratio..besides it looks better..

Do you want to spend your next few computing years looking at this:

My dad bought one for R2 500 2 weeks ago. I'm using it at the moment. Meant to have given it back a week ago :o

Small text isn't very clear IMO but gaming is fine. Only once did I notice ghosting and that was in Crysis when you come out the jungle and look out over the bay. The mountain in the distance ghosted rather badly but other than that nothing.

Still I'm not going to buy it myself.
 
if text is not clear on an LCD then you are not running the screen at its native resolution :)
 
text is totally clear man

small at the resolution but if you push up vista's dpi its all good :)

i have played many a game never noticed ghosting, im sure your not running at 1680 x 1050
 
I'm running it at 1680 x 1050.

I'm talking about the Fuji Killa
