Everyone seems to be very fond of the Samsung 226BW. Was on special the other day at Cyberdyne for R2 750

I've been looking around for a 22" LCD Widescreen for a while now. So far it's between the Samsung 226BW, Packard Bell Maestro 220 and the BenQ FP222WH

The Samsung has the highest contrast ratio (1000:1 - don't believe the 2000:1 or 3000:1 marketing hype on the screen) and so far all the reviews I've read (incl this month's SACM) rate it highly. Seems great value at R2,750.

The only reason I'm interested in the Packard Bell (unfortunately only available from Incredible Connection AFAIK) is because of the DiamondView surface. Should be great for watching movies (not much of a gamer). Was R3,199 on special at IC

The BenQ comes with HDMI input which should future-proof the screen and user comments on Newegg.com are very positive.

I'm struggling to make up my mind. Any thoughts?

I got the 226BW aint anything better !!!!!! In my opinion..

I'm currently sitting here and looking at the posts on my Samsung 22" Wide...
Am VERY happy with it allthough I bought it a week back for R3300...
R2750 is almost giving it away at cost!!!

I saw that sumsung at IC and its looked pretty good. that diamond view on thr PB you are talking about does make it look pretty. The samsung has a little shine on it too, sort of midway between a normal LCD and one with the diamondview/crystalbright/brightview option. it's not bad. I got a 19" FS from Makro which I got over a year ago for R2499. I am still very happy with it. And it was the inferior one too. I am guessing the best bet would be the samsung, it looks the business too.
