Your options will increase after Feb 2005. Currently Telkom ADSL and a couple of Wireless options are the choices you have to measure up against each other. Look at price vs. speed and bandwidth when doing so. Look out for heavy handed contracts. If you find a service provider offering what you want but with a bit of a killer contract, mention it to them and ask for less restrictive contract options. I personally equate restrictive long term contracts to the possibility of bad service... The contract in other words protects them from losing your money, but not you from getting bad service...

Good luck!

### What we need in South Africa is cheap 24/7, always on Internet for under R300 a month. ###

Heehee - a very good question! Dr Ivy's announcements essentially 'liberalised' telecomms in the country from that date, and we're all waiting with bated breath to see what vendors/service providers/operators will do...
If you want the current cheapest (telkom), go for:
Telkom Home384 thingy (about R480 or somewhere a month)
and a 2 or 3 Gig ISP account (R270 about for the 3gig)
Not sure how it pitches against sentech..
For an ISp check out the left had side of www.hellkom.co.za
Be warned though the first account you get will be in the range of R1600,
you get the first bill after about a month and a half and you have the ADSL and voice installation and rental all nicely added.
