Hey Guys

Got my 64k 24-7online installed today. Can anyone tell me what P2P client to use? I cant seem to find one that works...

Thanks

Cant get eMule to work with this connection...had it working perfectly on my 56k. Maybe only certain clients work with 24-7online? Anyone know anything more?

you are probably going to battle! this is why. You can confirm this with Clint Armstrong, but as far as I know, you cannot forward any ports, as you cannot control the firewall. So technically speaking you are not visible from the internet.

Torrents might work, but it won't be very fast because you need a listening port that is open.

Anyway I wish you the best of luck, try bearshare, kazaa and so forth and give us a report back if you don't mind!

Im managing to get a lowid connection to eMule now...but lowid on eMule = waiting in ques forever. I'm going to try the clients on http://p2p.info.pl/eng/mod-subjects-viewpage-pageid-34.phtml.

I am not actually with 24-7online directly. I have an account with www.gbay.co.za who are effectively 24-7online resellers, but I assume it will have the same port shaping system.

Will report back.

EDIT WITH TEST RESULTS:

Ares:
WORKS, Seems to be running at high speed. Quick connection.

eMule:
PENDING, So far only working on lowid, downloads have yet to start as qeues are huge.

Yo0u can alos try Soulseek which is great for music. It is unshaped on Iburst, buit it could differ from ISP to ISP.

Suppose all you can do is try your luck with a buch of smaller ones. but Ares should be about enough for you.

OK Ares is working at full speed. I need another client though, the Ares network is pretty small. Anyone?

try bitcomet downloads can be slow but there loads of torrents to chooses from, trying to find a better option. Will let you know if i find anything
