Yes. ConCourt decided this years ago. Free basic allowance starts at 50kW - check your bill as it should have the first 50 subtracted. When I still got council bills, this was indeed the case.

This was recently removed from my fathers bill. He no longer gets the free 50kW. I never did, but when I phoned the local municipality to ask why I was told it was because I live in a rich neighbourhood. Glad to hear I'm rich!


Who is supposed to get the free basic electricity per month?
The focus of free basic services is intended for poor households.

They don't want free 50W - they want free electricity.

But they have a right to that free 50kWh, what they want be damned. And without a connection, this is a problem that is gonna plague us for a very long time. Criticisms of the wants of the poor helps the situation nothing.
