256mb sdram, how much is is worth? A friend wants to buy it, but I don't want to give it away either, the PC can run a file server so it is kinda useful to me. File server is off these days because of the power dips and only the desktop has a UPS. File server as in movies series ect.

The guy offered me R250 for
- 300W PSU
- some motherboard, not the top of the line even in the day.
- Duron 1G
- 1 x 256MB SDRAM, 2x 128MB SDRAM, 1x64MB
Case and disks I'm keeping.

R250 is too low for all that.

Dude, imo it's like trying to sell an old car. It's worth more to you in practical use than the money that it's worth if you sold it.

I'd rather hang onto it and make a fileboxen as you said

I'd sell it, I've given away better things than that (I'm not in any way rich) but that stuffs basically useless, for a little money you could get something much more modern and usefull.

The only reason to keep old things like that is sentimentality, like I won't sell my voodoo, it's not worth anything but I keep it anyway.

Unless that Duron and SD-RAM have sentimental value (nothing special about either though) sell it if you can.

i suppose browser has a point. If you're not going to use it, sell it off. But if you're still using it to get that file server up and running, it might be worth more to u as a server than the 2 nights' drinking money that you'll get for it.

voicy 250 bucks for 2 nights drinking :)

come on now dont lie to the man, we all know that most of the times that aint enough for even one night hahaha

dont sell that for 250 bucks man, keep it

as said above use to for a server or something
