Hello everyone

Over the weekend I wanted to check my airtime/balances. I phone 808 and was informed that MTN is doing an "upgrade" and that everything will be back to normal on Monday.

On Monday I phone 808 again, and was informed my number was not found  Tried again, and that worked. I got to the balances menu and the system gave me the info from August 8th 2009

The same story on 258, and *162 says (all of a sudden) my pin is incorrect. If I then phone 16202 to setup the pin, the system informs me "we are experiencing a technical problem.... bla bla bla". As of today, I still can get my current info out of MTN

So, is there any way I can get my balance info that is not dated August 8th 2009?

MTN is making my decision to port to Vodacom easier by the day...

They are upgrading their billing systems and I have the :mad:same issues....

I've also had problems logging on to both 16202 and the mtnactive website. MTN does fix it but they take a day or two (and some reminding) to get around to it

MTN are in a perpetual state of "upgrade" with a network that is always broken. And they have a wonderful habit of switching off services randomly.

*162 Does not work. You have to monitor your own usage according to their website.
So why have a *162??

And now the MTN Active (WTF - INACTIVE!) website says "the information will only be available again from 18th September" or some similar crap.*

Sheesh, and we used to think Telkom was bad

me also having similar problem with balance check.
have a Nashua Mobile number, have been dialing 258 to listen to airtime balance for years, still worked a few weeks ago.
Now I dial 258 "we're sorry, we cannot pick up your number on our records, if u are MTN-SP user, then dial 808, or if u are not MTNSP then dial 258 from ur MTN phone" ... WTF! Thats what I just did, dialed 258 from mtn phone.

how else do we then check balances on non-MTN-SP sim?

Really seems like MTN is more concerned with expanding their customa base than caring about the users they have
:) MTN-ACTIVE, looks like they have a permanent message there that they have some or other problem. It always amazes me, how companies would rather waste money, needing to put customer service people in place to man phones, than put web services in place (or fix their service!) so that users can help themselves)
