So after shooting with my 18-55 and 55-250 non of the 2 really fits me, sometimes I am to close sometimes to faraway

Now does anybody own a 28-135mm IS USM, I can get a great second had one for under R2.8k doesn't seem to bad for the price.I do really need that USM

Dtba, what camera body do you use? a 28-135 is going to be very restrictive on a APS-C body, especially for landscape and group shots. Have a look at the Tamron 18-270mm and and Sigma 18-250mm. Awesome zoom range and good image quality.

I've got a 18-200mm on my Nikon.

Purely from a range perspective it's an absolute winner. It very rarely comes off my camera (unless I want to use my prime).

can u give more info on the lens , sigma tamron? etc

It's a Nikon, hence only my opinion on the range is applicable to you ;)

Also used this lens (18-200) on my DX body... it really is a pleasure to have that focal range accessible with one lens, though in my books, it was mostly too soft on the long end of the range (but i am very critical when it comes to focus). On the whole, i used this lens for about 90% of my shooting last year.

I know that Sigma and Tamron have equivalent lenses in the Canon flavor, but can't vouch for their sharpness, etc. have a look, read up on the lenses, and also make sure to test them out. One thing to look out for when buying 3rd party lenses (sigma, tamron, etc) is that the tolerances are slightly greater, and therefore lenses are often inconsistent. Basically, I would only buy a 3rd party lens if there were a couple of them available, and I could test them all and find the sharpest one out of those available.

I just checked out the Tamron 18-270mm f/3.5-6.3 Di II VC LD its really bad on the 270mm side , worse then my 55-250mm

yeah, these super zooms are always quite soft on the long end. One of my 'tog buddies uses a Sigma 18-200 and while it looked a bit softer than my nikon 18-200, on the whole I was quite happy with the shots.

maybe ill have a look at the canon 18-200mm

that would probably be your best bet. was not aware that canon has an equivalent (only really look at equipment I am interested in, which exludes all Canon gear :P) but I would at least have a look.

The real problem is I need USM (fast focus)
