2FA code for AltCoinTrader forgotten

Hi,

Please assist, I have forgotten my GOogle 2FA for AltCoinTrader. How do I reset it. Am unable to withdraw my coin.
 
When you initially setup 2FA you did not write down the code you scanned to set it up?

Note for other people when setting up 2FA make a note of the code under the qr you have to scan to do the 2fa first setup that is kept on an encrypted drive

This code you can then use to import into google authenticator on a new phone if ever you lose access to your 2FA/lost/damaged phone
 
Without the code only altcointrader support can reset your account for you.
 
Contact them, they have a method you can identify yourself to them to disable 2FA temporarily, then you can reset it again.

You can also do an export of your current google authenticator entries, its better to be prepared for the worst

ie select export it shows a qr code scan this from a backup phone to have a second device ie your wife's phone that can be used to have same 2fa on backup ,or keep in a safe space/encrypted drive to restore later

I have prepared for the worst with atleast 3 backups should anything happen and wife left with clear instructions how to access coins etc if needed,

Next time do make note of the recovery string when you set it up, if you have that you can add it to a new phone , the same care applies as with passphrase of btc wallet , if someone has that they can set it up on any device without OTP or any other protections

Can also just export it to your spouses autheticator app and thus have a backup device incase yours is lost/dies

Can also try time correction in settings of autheticator app if the valid code fails

Next time round make a note of the code with initial setup

Then you can add it to a new phone, and export the Google authenticator instances to your wife's phone or a spare phone lying in a drawer/safe. So that when you lose access to your phone or it dies you can recreate the instances
