Hey

One of my users who got a 2Gb+2Gb "special" experiences loss of connectivity every hour, which means he have to reconnect frequently.

In the beginning all worked fine without any disconnections.

Is this one of the measures Vodacom is implementing to prevent users from going over their 2Gb cap?

User is using an HP Probook 4520s with built-in 3g.

Had the same issue with my dad's laptop.

Plug in my 3g modem it works, put it in the internal one it keeps disconnecting.

I flashed the internal's firmware, loaded latest software and drivers and many other things to no avail.

Eventually started running the modem through the vodacom software and no issues since.

has nothing to do with the 2gb bundle, we have 2 of them and both can be connected for over 12 hhours without any issues...

Touch wood I have had no problems to date with disconnecting. I have an acer laptop.

The only problem I am experiencing at the moment (and it could be highly likely that it is some setting that I have changed by accident ) is that I cannot "connect" through the vodacom desktop icon.

I click on the icon and the whole red and white vodacom thingie comes up and goes throguh the process of recognizing the modem etc, I then press the blue "connect" and I get a message telling me that mobile connection is not possible and I must please check that no other programme is using my connection.

However, when I go into my laptop's network page, I am able to connect via this page.

So yes I am able to connect, but a schlep not being able to do it through the vodacom icon and I have no way of knowing how to change the situation.
