I got my first 2mbps modem last Thursday, came home, plugged it in, and nothing. Plugged the old black desktop terminal back in, and all is well. Took the new one back, got it checked (it worked), got a new one anyway, checked to work fine, and brought it home. It worked.
Problem is, we've been having constant disconnects. Trying to start a business, using iCall, and having the phone cut out constantly is a huge waste of time and money. Not to mention trying to download iOS5 updates. Forget it.
When it works, it works well. I have a screenshot of a 212kbps download happening - and it was a solid stream of bytes, not a burst. What I can't understand though is why I sit here typing, connected to the network via my old terminal, downloading at full speed (108kbps) in the background, and my connection is solid. Can anyone back me up on this? Has it happened to you? Is it the tower, or have I missed a setting somewhere?
@iBurst, please come back to me on this. I'm not going to pay extra on my contract for a terminal I can't use. Either find out what the problem is, or come and get the hardware.
