2Mbps? That’ll do nicely!

This is only a proposal and was handed in to the government before the shyte hit the fan where the world economy is concerned. This project will be on hold until the situation changes.

The US has already scrapped a similiar project because of this.

Nah... I'll skip this... and go directly to FTTB (Fibre to the Brain) :D

Duzzint matta.
I'm still going to be good for the whole year so that God can klapp Santa and I can get my 40Mbps.

Would have been better if it wasn't wireless....

No it would not - cause then I would get a telkom bill each month and that is just wrong.

Wireless FTW - only stoopid gamerkidz don't like when they lag, but they fail to see how you can use lag to your advantage ;)

Could you possibly explain how one can use excessive latency to your advantage?

It is like when you are drunk and your coordination is a bit screwed - it is funny - you have to see the humour in it. I mean, it is only a game, nothing serious. But I did get an insame high score in Super Mario once when I was totally stukkend on Frangelico...

Rouxenator : You honestly need to get a clue and find out just how important latency is and why Wireless connections will not replace a decent wired connection pretty much ever. They may get close, but the best wireless will never be able to match the best wired...

I have a real job where I work, I am not a gamer kiddy that plays patchcraft all day. When I remote desktop to a machine at work it is instantaneous response that I get. My wireless connection offers good enough latency. I have made voip calls from my phone over my wireless connection to Japan and it was without any lag.

Seriously, I am right even when what I say is wrong bru.

I work in the real world, and I'm NOT an online gamer (get that... not.. as in I do not game online).... Yes, for things like RDP etc latency is not a HUGE problem.. 100ms - 600ms is not going to kill the connection or the experience.

But the stuff I work with is very latency intolerant because it HAS to be... We deal with millions upon millions of transactions an hour...

Go and tell that to all the multinational corporations, and the banks, etc...

Its not a special case, you need to really start to understand what requirements companies have, if you think requiring a wired connection is a special case.

If someone came to me espousing a wireless connection as being better than a wired connection I'd tell them to get a clue and go away. I come from experience being an Infrastructure Manager for an eCommerce development business....
