Hi
Was reading through an article on yahoo.com sometime ago that said its better to buy 2nd hand dvds and blu rays than brand new.

Just wanted to know if it is worth it or stay away?

Thanks

No problem if the disk are "new" like i.e. no dirt or scratches. I just bought three PS3 games (BluRay) 2nd hand and all is fine. No scratch or dirt marks.

Cool, was that in the Jhb area?
If not, anyone know where in the Jhb area one can get 2nd title
Thanks

Blu-Ray are many times more scratch resistant than DVD, so I would think they would be better 2nd hand than DVD's which scratch easily.

I either do amazon.co.uk or 2nd hand blurays - too expensive locally new.

I must be missing something here. How can 2nd hand DVD's and Bly-Rays' be better than new ones?

Pawn shops .... like Crusaders. Makro had some specials on some releases as well as Game.

Picked up Transformers 2 special edition dbl disc yesterday for R149, had couple of hairline scratches but played perfect
well worth it i think
thats a good price. where did you buy it from?

Just out of curiosity, which Blu ray titles have the best picture and sound
I know 2012 and the sound effects were quite good
Thanks

low cost blu rays

Just returned from Bruma Fleamaket.Game zone has brand new original titles including Avatar from R180.

same here
What the dude is saying is that like vehicles, brand new products will lose 20% its value as soon as you hand over you hard earned R300.
A second had disk that you bought for say R120 can be resold for at least R100 but a brand new disk that you paid well over R250 for, will be used a couple of times by you only to become a 2nd disk and then resold for a paltry.........you do the math .

Exactly, just look at Amazon's used sale prices. I wish Kalahari.net/Take2 would do something like this.

Indeed but Amazon uk screws with packaging and posting costs with used titles so rather stick to new.Bought a new District 9 on blu ray for 9 pounds which translated to about R150 including vat.
