Age: 7 months
Warranty: Remainder of 1 year, have invoice
Packaging: Original - with recovery disk and manuals
Condition: Mint - battery is in excellent condition, screen has no scratches, charger is perfect and hardly used.

Going for R3k.

Would you?
My needs are simple: Home Studio Recording with Reaper, some browsing and the occasional HD movie or series.
Being the 2nd Gen i3, with some warranty - I'm liking. Some future proofing I hope.
Not a fan of the design.

Overall? Good deal? Thoughts?

Make sure the seller has a good reputation, if it's on Scamtree/OLX be extra careful. Otherwise not bad for the price, you should however shop around first and see if you can't get a new one for not much more, since most laptops don't last very long anyway.

Did a quick look and seems like i3's go for R4500+-

Yip been looking for a while at new prices and the R1.5k more throws me out a bit.
Its a reputable seller and its for collection.
So I can check it out first hand before anything else.

Sounds like a bargain to me - Go and have a look first, nowadays one must be very careful, and make sure about the ownership.

Yeah - I backed out after convo with a friend.
Warranty's like only 3 months.
Gonna suck it up and up my budget to R5k - so just missed out on T520 at Esquire for R5700 incl.
But something will come along in the next few weeks from their side I'm sure.

Also want to be on the lookout for more warranty than a year, new.

Cool, I was going to post the following to help you:

Read Step 3 to Step 8: http://sustainablog.org/2008/09/10-step-guide-to-buying-a-used-laptop-that-works/

Otherwise lookout for any specials on Boxing day.

You could have taken it. Dell offers extended warranties from as little as R600, even if its not to the original owner. Sometimes having the invoice helps as well.
