In the region of R1000 I'd say is fair.

//edit: i assumed the windows and photoshop are pirated. Not that windows xp original will add much value in any case at this stage.

Unlimited power supply?! Woo!hoo! I'll buy it now and take over the world. Wait...maybe it's an uninterruptible power supply? D'oh!

The Mecer computers at work were supplied with Windows disks and Photoshop Elements, if I remember correctly. So it's probably not pirated.

lol i just copied what she sent to me. obviously meant a ups

The make/brand of the UPS could influence the price. If it's something like a APC one then she should get more money.

i offered R1000 planning to go up to R1200 but she said her best offer is R2800...

well thats that

If you were wanting to build a brand new machine, you'd never be able to spend R2800 for any spec machine that performs close to the spec they're selling. So that is how I would suggest you look at it. Since you're not on the market for an equivalent new machine, look at what you can get new for R2800, and I bet their spec still surpasses that, and that is without the other goodies.

Yes, I know it's not new, but still, I would say talk them down to R2500 or R2000 instead, seeing as there is bundled software (if it's original). Up to you.

Why? She's already got an offer for R2800 so why sell it for less.

I took the original post to mean that dheshenp had first preference to buy the machine. And honestly, offering R1000 was not a smart move.

Water under the bridge.
