Any of you guys have a second job/income to make ends meat.

I am at that stage where I cant cut expenses anymore and need to find an alternative income.

40 year old, married with two kids.

Needing something that I can do from home as am working full time daily.

Weekends are generally free, have internet access at home.

Currently working in the car market (sales), but have IT (technical) and sales experience.

Any ideas.

Develop websites and online sales tools for second hand car dealers and similar type businesses. If you incorporate both your sales and IT experience, I'm sure you could come up with something unique and compelling that could be white-labeled... good luck.

I've done the 2 job thing and in fact only gave up on it recently when my salary increased to a certain point and also it just became untenable to do 2 jobs and take care of the family adequately. It's a killer. I'm now focusing on doubling down on my 1 job to make that a sufficient income that I can continually grow.

When you say IT technical experience what do you mean? There's always freelance coding work out there.

Hi Cerebus

I recognize your name from the Atheist/Christian debates (I think).

I have no experience in software development etc.

What other work did you do?

Vending machine?
Party-hire stuff - like jumping castles, popcorn machines, slush machines, etc?

Yes that's correct but I haven't ventured into that crucible for some time now.

I did transcription work for overseas clients. The pay was surprisingly good but I can't recommend that type of work.

Thought so. Loved reading your intuitive responses to some of the posts.

Can you remember and/or recommended a company (I am keen for overseas). I have googled and always end up on advertising or search engine pages. Also you don't quite know who the scam artists are.
By paying reasonably well, could you elaborate a little (if you can remember).

Thanks man

You could go around to local businesses and promote them on social media (twitter, facebook etc) for a small, monthly fee.
Most small businesses don't have websites because it is too expensive to develop/maintain, but having a social media presence is cheap.
And those businesses that aren't interested in social media may be interested in paying a small fee to protect against arson

Hallo Police? About those incidents of flaming bags of dog poop you've been having in town? First of all - I don't think its from dogs...

Make and sell biltong. Easy to do and everyone loves good biltong.

All you need is a plastic box, some dowels, some hooks, a fan, a lightbulb, spices, vinegar, meat and some time.

You could build up a regular client base etc.

Good idea. Piece of cake to make a box and price it right. Good idea

Make themed gift boxes. Christmas is coming now, so do something creative which will appeal to those of us who just have to buy presents for the sake of it.

Then in Feb we have Valentines day etc
