Could be a useful replacement for our dsl line. Only problem is the Telkom tower is the first to go down in our neighbourhood during load shedding.

Anyone know what the actual speeds on these are?

It will work great for our surveillance station

I think it greatly depends on your local tower's congestion. I got a Telkom LTE contract a few days ago (40Gb for R 150) with a secondary sim that me & the wife share in our phones.

I'm getting decent speads so far, spead test just now (granted it's early and network probably still very quiet):

Good day everyone,
I just want to make sure if this deal (SIM only) is indeed month to month? So I can cancel any time without cancellation fees?
Thanks

It says R699 month-to-month, but after clicking apply it says R699 x24 months. Am I missing something here? I want this deal but only if it is indeed month-to-month

--edit:
I see if you apply for the R769 deal (with router) that's marked as month-to-month. So someone made an oopsie

Would have taken this if I didn't have the Vodacom 300GB deal. For now I rarely go over 200GB a month too.

I have a Telkom 40GB for R150 sim as backup which I hardly use. Think speeds will also depend on your router as some can only do like 50Mbps max (so real world max you end up getting is 30Mbps to 40Mbps). The speeds people show on their phones when the sim is in a phone is not what most will be getting.

I would love to know if this deal allows multi sim?

I would also love to know.

Currently, their April Big Deal allows you to add multiple sims when you apply via the website (link). However, I do not know if it is really true because when I went to the shop, they said you cannot but when I spoke to an agent over the phone, said you can.

Some info for those wanting this deal, applicable to the 2TB R699 sim only deal.

1) Apparently NOT available in-store (I found out the hard way), only online.
2) It is advertised as Month-to-Month, however shows as a 24 month contract when signing up. I just confirmed over phone that even though it shows on statement as a 24 month contract, it is in fact month-to-month, and can be cancelled at any time without penalty.
3) I signed up telephonically on confirmation of the above and process was quick and easy.
4) 5-10 day lead time.

Do you know if you can add additional sims?

Does anyone have the specs of the router used? I can find a Cat4 and a Cat6 version of the AC1200 router.

That's going to be a problem - I don't have an ID number and the form requires it.
