Hi, I recently bought a Western Digital CAViAR GP WD20EARS 2TB. The problem is I cant get it working, every time I plug it in it doesn't display in my BIOS and further more if I plug it in it disables my other 1TB Samsung drive, and then only my 160 GB drive shows. I have gotten it to boot once but then it gave me an "disk cannot be formatted" error.I tried to only plug in the 2TB and it still doesn't display. I have updated my BIOS, plug it in different SATA slots and set jumper setting but nothing. Is it a faulty drive or a PSU that not strong a enough? I have a g31m-s2l mobo.

If you do have access/friends with newer hardware, then I'd suggest that you try the drives in those PC's instead, because it might just be an issue with your motherboard being unable to use drives larger than 1TB.

set the drive jumper to limit the drive size to 32GB to see if the above poster is correct 
The drive most likely has some firmware issues, as that's often what causes bizarre issues like you're experiencing. Could be a few things but no need to go into the details. Either way, it's a new drive so just get the supplier to replace it. Seeing that you've never really got it to work I assume there's no data on there that you need?
