I was going to download the firmware but it says in the comment section :
" Make sure you verify the MD5 before install!"
What does this mean? and doe sit matter what regions firmware i download e.g. jap, EUR or USA version?

MD5 is a type of algorith that verifies your downloaded file. You download file should match the MD5.

You should dl the EUR version.

Not much point in upgrading to 3.50. From a few posts I've seen that the firmware now locks out unlicensed USB devices. So if you have a dodgy Chinese steering wheel that's not licensed by Sony you won't be able to use it either on the new firmware.
