Ok.. might be a stupid question, but is this: 3.5" drive bay (External) for a real external?

Like an external HDD?

Or is it for a floppy disc thingy?

But I don't remember a stiffy thing being the same size as a HDD?

Anyway.. Can someone tell me what that is?

Causes I read it on the chase that i want to get.. but don' know what that is.. :(

To be perfectly honest, your post makes absolutely no sense to me... Then again, it has been a long week, so fair enough.

Your not alone south_bit, i too have no frikken clue what he's going on about :)

3.5" indicates the standard size for a PC hard drive. So a 3.5 external bay will take the same kind of HDD that you have in your pc.
Laptop drives are 2.5" generally. (occasionally 1.8? or are those only used in other devices?)

The term 3.5" drive bay (External) for a case description means is that there is a bay that can accept the installation of a 3.5" device that is accessible from the front of the case.

In other words, you remove the plastic/metal faceplate from the front and you can have access to the device. An example would be a Stiffy drive installed in this space. It could be described as a 3.5" device mounted in a drive bay with external access.

Have a look here as an example http://www.coolermaster.com/product.php?product_id=5426
Read the product specs and click on the picture of the front of the case to understand.

Make sense now ?

Edit : Oops made a mistake on the device, now fixed - still too early to think straight :)
