Hi, I am new to the forum and have in the past found it very helpful.
I need some help with my 3 decoder uniview setup. The setup is a follows:
- LMX500 (4 unicable ports + 2 universal ports)
- 2 Explora 1's (primary and secondary) each with a diplexer and each connecting to smart LNB LMX500.
- 1 HD6S (secondary) - new type with built in SC. Connected to LNB LMX500
- Although not part of the DSTV setup also an Open View decoder connected to 1 of the LNB LMX500 universal ports.
Previously my 2 Explora setup worked fine. I then added the HD6S and got error 143 no HB from primary. When I disconnect my secondary Explora 1 from the LNB the HD6S then receives the HB.
My cable run to primary Explora is <5m, to secondary Explora 20m and to HD6S 46m. I am using the thinner 5mm coax cable that I bought from Space Television, also bought the diplexers from them.
Another thing that bothers me is that on my Primary decoder the primary and secondary Exploras have the correct SM number but the secondary HD6S has a different IUC/SM number than displayed on the HD6S info screen BUT the heartbeat is transmitted as long as I disconnect the secondary Explora. Multichoice help is at best pathetic and they treat me as an idiot when they hear I am not an installer. Help would be appreciated.
I am thinking that I am going to place all 3 decoders in the lounge with short runs to the dish to see if the problem still exists but 46m cable run should not be a problem? Could it be that the HB comms from the primary Explora 1 is not strong enough?
