3 G

If you are using Ubuntu and a 3G dongle, when you plug in the dongle, Linux will notify you that a new Internet connection is available.

With Linux you don't normally need drivers for 3G devices. I have had the most success with Ubuntu for using 3G dongles and phones for Internet.

If you not sure how to use 3 G dongle/modem and if it's a Vodacom branded modem, should have come with a voucher then pop into any vodacare/vodashop the consultant is more than willing to help you.

Wow, Vodacom have come a long way then. Last time I mentioned to the helpdesk I was using Ubuntu they told me it was not supported and refused to log my call, even though my query was about a data bundle being activated and had absolutely nothing to do with my signal, my modem or my operating system.
