Well well well, who woulda guessed... Telkom still hasn't given me an installation date for my ADSL.
It all started in May(this year amazingly), I fill in my order form(joy was filling my heart) on the 12th and send it through.
4 days later I phone Telkom and guess what, they don't have my order. Musta lost it, like the 2 previous times I applied for ADSL. I resent my order through, 3 days later I call back... Still haven't received my order.
18th May(Still this year, amazingly) I call them and yes, finally they have my order and can give me a reference number, then they inform me that the order takes 3 days to be processed... I am told to call them back on the 20th.
20th May, call them and guess what, order still not through, swear at person on other end of line, they hang up.
23rd May, order still not processed, same thing happens as 20th May.
25th May, apparently the order has been processed, then i call back later only to find out this is not the case, ask to speak to person i spoke to earlier in the day, repeat 20th May.
30th May, order has finally been processed. A port has even been allocated(joy). Go to sleep feeling all warm and fuzzy inside.
3rd June, wait a second, what port? No installation date, and repeat of 20th May.
6th June, speak to someone who seems to know what is going on, he gives me a few numbers to call of ppl in the planning division. All the numbers ring into oblivion, noone answers.
22nd June, Apparently there is now a port project being planned on my exchange, scheduled to be completed on 19th August(didn't say what year).
5th July, Port project started, still has a completion date of 19th August.
6th July, They are unable to determine if the port project has started, or finished, in fact, they don't know about any port project at all, I am told to call back in 2 days to see if ports have been allocated yet.
8th July, No ports. I am told that a port should be allocated by end of day and that someone will call me by then(yeah right). Swear at person on other end of the line, she says she will speak to her manager for me.
Other random calls during July, there is a port allocated, there isnt, there is a port project, there isnt, multiple calls turn out like 20th May.
27th July, Apparently the port has been allocated and someone will contact me within 5 working days with an installation date. pfft.
28th July, No port allocated, port project to be completed 19th August, call back later and a port HAS been allocated.
4th August, Order is validated and an installation date is all that is needed.
Multiple calls to get any information, again I hear there is a port project to be completed on 19th August, again I hear that I should have an installation date within 5 working days...
Date today... 13th August... ADSL status: NONE
