Hi ppl

** Sob story on **
As some of the veteran MyADSLers know, in the height of the Sentech buzz, I brought 4 IPWireless modems in from New Zealand for myself and some buddies that were "definitely keen for Sentech".

About the time the modems arrived, Sentech got crap, and my mates bailed on me. On top of that, the modems were using the wrong frequency!

Anyhow, the good folks at IPWireless, UK went the extra 10 miles and actually replaced my NZ Woosh modems with brand new modems for the Sentech frequency.

My problem is that I have since discovered that Sentech has crappy latency - which means online FPS gaming will suck. Gaming is why I wanted a 24/7 connection :(.

I have since sold off one modem, and am looking to sell the remaining 3.
The modems are brand new in their packaging, and I have tested them all. Although I haven't really tried too hard to sell them, I've been sitting with the modems for 4 months now and need to free up the cash.

** Sob story off **
** Shameless plug on **

So here's the deal:
3 x IPWireless modems = R2250 each - save R1250 on the NoWire modem retail of R3500

1 x Ethernet USB cable = R125

OR all 3 modems + the ethernet cable for R6250 :>

If you interested, mail me on skylite [at] webmail.co.za.
Shipping via Speed Services to counter is on me :)

I would find alternative uses for them... cuz the chances of selling them off are going to be hard cuz you either HAVE to buy the modem from Sentech when you sign up or you get the 24month rip off.

x-mas decorations arent bad.

Perhaps you could throw them at members of upper sentech managment cuz they are quiet heavy and I am sure if thrown correctly could cause concussion or severe head injury.

yeah... goodluck

One ordered with ethernet cable, awaiting delivery :-)

Edit: Just so nobody thinks I am crazy, I house sit, and it is highly inconvenient to fetch the modem from my dad's offices each evening then drive it back each morning!

Damn SpeedServices' tracking page... times out :-(

Is that bcos yr using MW to Track an Item?

Is this where I am supposed to say LOL? Really, this kind of comment is getting old (I know, I made enough of them).

As Donovan has indicated, one modem has been sold, leaving 2 modems doomed to spend Christmas as ornaments...:P

If you are keen on saving a modem from this fate and putting it to work, let me know :)

:o

Damn, the post office is slower than Sentech! Speed services page is completely uninformative! Hopefully these idiots will bring my modem tomorrow. Urgh!

Hey... the modem arrived today. Connects and works 100% no problem - it's so convenient having one at home connected to the router and one to take house sitting with me.

A wierd problem is how sentech has "fixed" multiple logins - if one modem is logged in as USERNAME, and another person tries to log in at the same time, then the person logging in gets denied. I would have thought it more appropriate to boot off the current user... then again, Sentech isn't known for common sense.

Thanks, lewstherin.

Got my modem this morning :)

Thanks very much! Now I just need an account :(

thewanted_, let me know how it goes in getting an account sans a modem from them... dunno what they'll say to that. Knowing them they'll find some way to rip you off.

My friend's Dad is a big shot at Autopage, so if they give me any **** he'll help me out. Also, lewstherin says he knows someone at Nowire in DBN that can get me an account without a modem.
