A team of a special investigations unit headed by Willie Hofmeyer, including Scorpions and housing officials, has identified 31 259 bureaucrats believed to be involved in the massive housing scam.

The team examined a list of 53 555 government workers whose names appear in a database of subsidised housing and found that 31 259 did not qualify.

This attitude is not helping! What has this country come to when nobody cares that millions (if not billions) of taxpayer money is being stolen?

I for once hope that they will not just receive a slap on the wrist. All money should be refunded and those who are responsible (someone must have approved it) for this should be sent to jail!

I think this once again shows the negative effect it has on the country, when political cronies without expertise are appointed to management positions. It just opens the door for corruption and mismanagement.

I'm sure the DA will have field day with this :)
 
Agree the attitude is not helping.

it is the people that have been legitimately waiting for houses, 'for over a decade', jobs, infrastructure in their under-serviced areas that are getting fed-up and at some point end up robbing houses, hijacking, etc, etc.
In other words, hijacking you and robbing your house.
Security in your area can only insulate you from poverty for so long.
While the comrades in government enrich themselves at the expense of the masses, the pressure builds and patience wears thin.

The Government does not care, they know, when the patience thread snaps, the people will vent their anger and frustration on the white people, we are the perfect scape goats

Some of the ANC members seem to be getting impatient. I doubt they would change their votes though, as the ANC freed them from apartheid; Their children will however not have the same loyalism.

I am still young and only recently became interested in politics; It is just so fascinating to see how it plays out!! It is like chess, but playing with real people.

A black person(s) attacking a white person because he is perceived to have money?

Obviously whites are perceived to have more money, because we (mostly) have! White people oppressed the black people for many years and enjoyed the benefits of our mineral rich country.

I am sure if research is done/found, the average white person will have more money than the average black person.

Well I am glad you have more, unfortunately I am not sitting in the same boat as you. And unfortunately, the poor bloke living in a shack not getting any service, will look at a white guy in a car and think: "$$%^&*%$# whites they are getting rich while I am suffering" I can bet you now, he wont think : "##$%$#@#$% government is screwing me over, time to let my vote count!!"

I believe the latter. Maybe I am ignorant, maybe I am optimistic... only time will tell.
