Hello PC gamers and builders,

We are now in 2022 and what are the odds that the GPUs (30 series) will have its supply chain resume to normal. There is NO WAY I am buying GPUs from scalpers selling cards for prices 4 times the recommended retail price.

Been waiting to buy a 3060 or 70 but seems like I might have to stick with my 1060 for now. Anyone here sharing my frustrations?

Im in the market for a 3060 now, its currently R12999 which i actually think is a decent price considering its about double the price of my GTX 970 and has much more than double performance.

Although the price of this same card was R9,999.99 a while back and im still kicking myself for not pulling the trigger.

I just had a look on Evetech, yep its going for 12999. Will give it some thought but sheesh....

Won't hold my breath for us in SA this year, but this guy gives some interesting perspectives on the situation.

Literally millions of cards mining crypto at this moment.

I remember buying Nvidias top of the line GPU the Geforce 256 DDR for about 2.5k in 1999, crazy to think what top of the line costs now.

I wonder if/when the shortages will start to affect game sales on pc? A lot of people I know are quiting PC gaming or moving to consoles.

I'm beginning to think the scalpers are the GFX card companies.
Its interesting if you look at the anouncements at CES, it feels like AMD and maybe Intel are trying to help with more budget friendly options and bring more affordable hardware to the masses, more gamers are good for the industry, less = bad, but then Nvidia comes with the 3090 TI.

I know they are also doing a 3050, but with the curent state of things, shortages across their range, and sky high prices for old and new cards, they decide to bring out yet another super expensive card, that won't be widely available nor affordable to most. I wonder who will get up to 100k for a single card over here.

Same here. Hopefully sometime this year it'll hit that again :(
