I know I've asked this question somewhere - but how do I make a photo 300dpi ... ?

I've got a photo taken of me at 18MP and need to give it to someone at 300pdi ...

MegaPixels are direct measurements of the images resolution. DPI is an indication of image quality while being displayed on a particular size and resolution of screen, or the quality of an image after it's printed.

If you use Lightroom, just export it and change the settings to 300dpi.
If you use PS, change Image Size under Edit (I think) to change the settings)
DPI isn't applicable to screen viewing, it's applicable to print.

download gimp- you can do it in that as far as I know. Otherwise just give them a photo that is 4x the size you want to print it at. I'm sure they can organised it for you

Only print media has DPI, your screen's DPI is impossible to change as it is a physical property of the panel. Decreasing DPI simply means more pixels are used to display one pixel.

Another way of checking DPI to dimensions is to use the scale function in graphic apps.

Thanks guys.

They retook one this morning ... I obviously still did something wrong despite the advice :P
