30Minute to shutdown

Hi guys

I need some help please.

A fellow worker asked me to look at his wife's notebook.
Its is a Dell Inspiron 3521, she got it as a Win8 notebook and asked a IT tech to reload it with Win7.
The IT tech did and ever since the notebook only runs for 30 minutes.

I have reloaded the notebook with 8.1, no data copied across, no drivers installed. I have flashed the bios with a previous bios version and then another previous version and still the notebook shutsdown.

Has anyone come across this?

In the bios it should show battery health and so forth.

Some thing tells me to look at the power management settings in windows and bios..

Take the battery out and run it on the mains only.

Maybe the battery is shot or the it tech swapped it with a bad one...
