32" LCD Help

Hello everyone!

I think its about time for me to grab a nice LCD TV. I saw a nice one at Game for R3499 special this weekend. Sinotech 32" HD Ready LCD TV (says 800:1 contrast and 5 year guarantee) and I also saw a nice one from HiFi Corporation, AKAI 32" Full HD LCD TV (120Hz and 5000:1 contrast with 3 year guarantee) for R3999.

I would like to watch some movies and hopefully use my XBOX on it. It fits my R4k budget quite nicely aswell. Any comments about these TVs?

Sony, LG or Samsung. All the other brands use their lcd panels. got 32 lg full hd & sony 70 [ks-70r200]. both very good. the makro sony = very good deal @ R4k

Stay away from Sinotech. Trust me - heard only bad things.

Just to be clear, would you all take the Sony Bravia 32" HD Ready LCD TV with 3 years warranty for R4k over the AKAI 32" Full HD LCD TV with 120Hz and 3 years guarantee for R4k? I think the best option is to go into the shop and physically compare the image quality of the two TVs.

For console/PC and DVDs etc, the Akai will be fine.

For TV viewing, the Sony will be better.
