350 MB bundle now active!

Its great. I was able to load a 350MB option on 20 Oct when I recharged my PAYG data bundle. Was a bit surprised to have the option then but it was a better idea so loaded it instead of my usual 100MB option.
I still think there is place for more bundles though MTN...hint hint :p

I was able to load a 350Mb with MTN SP 808 too - it just required the call-centre agent to use his initiative and find it on their secondary system. Apparently it is being migrated onto the primary system later today.

I have been unsuccesful after numerous attempts. They just flatly refuse to believe that a 350mb bundle is available to contract subscribers.

I would really like to have a 350mb bundle, but apparently MTN doesn't share the sentiment.

What am I to do?

Are you with MTN SP and able to call 808? Choose menu option 5 (Blackberry and Data services) and then wait for an operator. Presumably this gets you to a team of call centre agents who specialise (and I use that term loosely) in data products.

The 350 was definetly available on their secondary system yesterday, and should be on the primary today. Esculate to supervisor until you get satisfaction.

iTalk sent me an updated tarriff guide, and there was def. a 350Mb bundle on there...

Kinda off-topic, I also noticed that GPRS is still R2 a meg. I have no idea why, but for some reason, I thought it had been dropped to R1.50 some time ago, and I've been hearing rumours of 90c per meg! What cuts?

There was some confusion when some press releases on MMS rate cuts were published. Certain news stories reflected it as data rate cuts (maybe due to MMS being carried over GPRS).

So, GPRS default rate for non-bundle users is R2.00 per Meg but MMS is now 90c per MMS.

350Mb bundle not available through Autopage

As usual the rocket scientists at Autopage's call centre don't know what I'm talking about. After trying since Tuesday to get the 350Mb bundle activated they now tell me that it is not available!

I'm definitely changing SP when number portability becomes available.

Thanks a mil, Hydrofire.

I had it loaded on. The call centre answered almost immediatly, without even going through the menu options, and I spoke to a guy that new more or less nothing. But after telling him that it is there and he should check, he put me through to the Data Helpdesk. And tada! it is done!

Though apparently, the first guy cancelled my 100mb bundle and he shouldn't have. It caused a prob with the loading of the 350mb.

Why don't they just tell the people what to do to access new services and products? Or have a dedicated menu option for it? Or better yet, inform their staff of what they're selling?
