Ok, My console was an Arcade console bought in Jan, so it is one of the later models.
I am using a 3rd party Logic3 VGA cable connecting to my LCD LG monitor.

I have been experiencing some issues lately with my 360 where the screen turns black and then back to the game. This has happened twice now and then last night I was playing and the screen turned black and it stayed black. I waited a minute or two to see if it is just a loooong loading screen (playing Eternal Sonata) but it stayed black, pushed the "home" button and nothing happened.
Had to restart my 360.

My question is this:
Can the VGA cable affect the performance of the 360 to the extend where it freezes the system?
Has anyone else experienced this with any other VGA cable or even an AV setup?

Advice, kind words and help is appreciated.
PS3 fanoyism is not! :D

Try running the console with the original av cables through a tv for a while and see if it does the same

Yes, I have been thinking of that but the HDlessness scares me! :D

I might have to fork out R350 for the MS VGA Cable then.

I'm using the MS cables as well and have had no issues to date.
I remember buying the cable for around R200.

Only way is to run it through the original cables and see if you having the same prob.

i recently purchased the original m$ cables from game exchange in Edenvale for only R240, contact them if you want them, afaik they ship country wide as well.
