In a similar vein, I currently have located a handy conduit in my wall that currently only contains 2 DSTV cables and has space for a Cat5 cable. This has however raised some questions in my mind:

Will the DSTV signla cable interfere with my Cat5?
Where does one find a cable snake to rent?
Where does one find the best price / quality cables these days? In my yoof I got my gear from cable link , do they still come reccomended?

I am running CAT5 and DSTV in same trunking with no problems.

CableLink is where I have bought my network supplies.

Invest in a snake from Builders Warehouse, they are nt expensive.

installing a new system going to replace all dstv cables running to TV's with cat 5 cable then converting them from the PVR hdmi to cat 5 and then at the tv from cat5 to hdmi

anyone know of a good store to get those converters from ?

I pulled two Cat5e next to DSTV cable. No issues and running gigabit speeds. Bought a nylon "fishtape" from Builders warehouse (was 100 and something ronds). I bought all the network goodies from Scoop Distribution (ask for retail prices). See what I ended up doing

As far as I know. You can't pull Cat5 with electrical cables in the same conduit, this is against the code. But if it's in a conduit with DSTV or anything non-electrical then it's fine.
