Okes, would you say it would be wise to rather get 384 then 512? because what i can see very little users get the promised speed on 512? Thanks

And lots of the 384 dudes seem to be getting 512 speeds ;-)
I'm on 192 and easily get 32KB down and 19KB up.

lucky bugger lately i dont get faster than 19kB

yeah, 384k best value for money - well from the monopoly anyways ;-)

Line speed means jack when you have a cap.

What would you prefer? 512 speeds and reach you 3GB cap in 14 hours, or 384 and reach it in 20 hours? Big deal.

Well assuming you're able to reach the speeds your line sync is set at

a 192 line will get 256kbps or 32kB/s (80% of 320kbps)
a 384 line will get 410kbps or 51kB/s (80% of 512kbps)
a 512 line will get 512kbps or 64kB/s (80% of 640kbps)

I went for 384 as it's almost twice the speed of 192 and not too far off 512 speeds

I was originaly on 512 and then moved to 384 and it was definatly a worthwhile move because I have not realy noticed any difference.

This may just be my opinion but what a waste of money and a waste of the ability to provide that speed.
I mean, with port shaping and that little excuse for a cap how could you really justify the extra money just for a couple of seconds or minutes extra speed, obviously depending on the file size you download.
But since the little cap is there, utilizing this extra speed inorder to download a large enough file that makes a difference time wise would mean that it wont be to long till you get capped.

go for 384, I get 55k/s average. Faster than some of my buddies on 512, could it have anything to do with the area you're in???
