I have a 384 line (upgraded from 192). Yesterday I decided to get upgraded to 1024 so I could taste 4mbits, so I gave Telkom a call. The 1 lady I spoke to told me it would take 6 to 8 weeks for the upgrade, a second Telkom source told me 7 working days and various myadsl users agreed on 48 working hours.

As it would appear, the upgrade has occured. But not from 384 to 1024, but rather straight to 4096/384 - at least that is what my router is synching at. I'm still getting 384 speeds, but I am about to try reboot my router to see if I can speed it up...

Omg nice, when did u order your upgrade, i ordered my upgrade from 384 to 1024 at 8am yesterday and still nothing yet.

UPDATE:

Just rebooted my router...

Your line speed is approximately 1065.6 Kbps or 130.6 kBytes/sec

*heavenly voices*

Now I eagerly await the 4mbit upgrade along with the other 1024 users.

I placed my order on Friday morning to be upgraded from 384k to 1mbit, and I was upgraded by Sunday evening.

Good job Telkom :)

yeah I was upgraded in less than 24 hours. I called in for an upgrade around 1pm yesterday and I am upgraded now.

Zubs, check your router's synch rate, if it is at 4096/384 or 1024/whatever, try rebooting your router. That might give you the actual speed.
