On Saturday at 9:30 am I decided to upgrade my 384 kbps line to 512 kbps. I phoned Telkom and spoke to a consultant.
He said that it is a seamless process that I can do over the phone and it will take effect almost immediately. I asked what "almost immediately" mean. He explained that it can be immediately but it sometimes takes 24 hours to take effect. He told me that it's an automated process and that he needs to move my details to a different server or something.
So I said. "OK great I'll upgrade." he took details etc. then said "OK it's done". It's now Sunday 1:40 pm and still when I do a bandwidth test it's exactly the same as my 384kbps test on www.speedtest.net.
362kbps down, 112 upload. 92ms ping on average. So obviously this haven't been upgraded yet.
Is there a way to check online if this has been done?
or do I just wait till tomorrow 12:00, and if not done, phone them again?
Just want to get other people's experiences on this and find out if there is a way for me to check this myself.
