Will an upgrade from ADSL 384 to 512 make any difference for 2 players sharing a connection playing BF2142? Or even for a single player?

For example, Flatout 2 minimum system requirements for online play is a 512kbps connection. Does anyone have any experience of this?

For 2 players sharing a connection yes. The upload stream for 384 is 128kbs while 512 has an upload stream of 384.

You wont see much of a difference for single player games though unless you are going to host games.

512 has an upload stream of 384.

Thank you for the info -

Telkom ADSL 512 upstream is only 256 kbps.

Seems most new games now require a minimum of 128kbps upstream per player, and as you say, multiply that number per player if you're hosting, or per player sharing the connection.

if you sharing a line 512 will be needed for 2142 to ensure no lag :)

besides its only 100 bucks more than 384

you would need much more than 512k line to host a 2142 game

This is strange to me, I have a 384 line and we play 3 players BF and at my dads office there is a 512 line and we play 3 players as well and there is no difference in latency what so ever.

If your a dota player online @ war3.co.za it will enable u to host dota games.
384k can't host only join:(
