Hi,

To let you know we have been given the go ahead to launch the 384k uncapped ADSL solution.

Pricing: R 879 ex pm

We are taking sign ups now, month to month contract 30 days notice, no setup fee.

uncapped,unshaped international bandwidth even with only 1 session dial up is very acceptable @ that price:) :)

Any limits or reduced speeds after 30 gigs etc?

Just made an enquiry. It's a little tight (R1000 pm) but with the IS NNTP server being as bad as it is now, this is looking like a good option.
 
Restrictions = international bandwidth with IS is up and down continuously.
But it's better than feeding telkom.
AFAIK latency over sat destroys gaming for many
 
Ok, so here's another question:

Will we get 384K speeds on NNTP downloads the whole time? And I don't want to hear stories about how it's dependant on how far I am from the exchange, etc. I get full speed on my various capped accounts at the moment. Will this be the same, only uncapped, or will I start seeing 20Kb/s at times?

I've had uncapped before and I pulled what little hair I had left out of my scalp due to poor service so I don't want to get burned again! Granted, last time I had to pay the setup fee (and lose it)...

If this really works, it'll be a great service!

It does, and there is no setup fee. so the worst that you are faced with is a month of bad service which I can assure you, that you wont.

In addition we are releasing a low latency (300-350ms) proxy service for gamming for those who have uncapped Sattelite options. We are working on the costing for this.
 
Hmmmmm, interesting!

Too much for my cashflow unfortunately, but good luck with the endeavour!
